April isn’t usually packed, but 2026 is a bit different. Within roughly two weeks, at least five SUVs are expected to land in India. Some are proper launches, some are updates, and a few sit in that “expected but very likely” zone.
Only the Taigun facelift has a fixed date for now. The rest follow industry timelines, dealer signals, and launch patterns. Still, the clustering matters. When multiple SUVs arrive this close together, pricing and buying decisions shift quickly.
April 2026 SUV Launches
It starts on April 9 with the Volkswagen Taigun facelift. Around April 15, Toyota is expected to bring in its new Urban Cruiser Ebella EV. A day later, MG could introduce the Majestor. By April 20, updates for the Hector, Hector Plus, and Brezza are likely to show up almost together. Toward the end of the month, around April 22, Nissan’s Tekton should follow.
Volkswagen Taigun Facelift
The Volkswagen Taigun facelift arrives first, and this one is confirmed for April 9. Pricing should stay somewhere between ₹11 lakh and ₹19 lakh, so no surprises there.
This isn’t a full overhaul. It’s more of a clean update. Sharper LED elements up front, a slightly fresher look overall, and a better infotainment setup inside. Nothing drastic under the hood either, the same petrol engines are expected to continue.
Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella
Toyota’s Urban Cruiser Ebella is expected to show up around mid-April. If things go as planned, pricing could sit in the ₹18–21 lakh range.
This one matters because it’s fully electric. Estimated range is around 400 to 500 km, which puts it right in the middle of the current EV SUV space. Toyota has been fairly cautious with EVs so far, so this feels like a more direct step in. Not everything is officially locked in yet, but this is one of the more important entries this month.
MG Majestor
The MG Majestor is expected to arrive on April 16, priced between ₹40 lakh and ₹43 lakh. Positioned above the Hector lineup, it enters the full-size SUV space with a focus on size, premium interiors and a feature-rich cabin. It is expected to target buyers prioritizing comfort and road presence.
MG Hector Plus
Updates for the MG Hector and MG Hector Plus are expected around April 20. Pricing is likely to remain between ₹12 lakh and ₹20 lakh depending on the variant. Changes include minor exterior updates, additional features and improved ADAS performance. Engine options are expected to remain unchanged.
Maruti Suzuki Brezza 2026
The updated Maruti Suzuki Brezza is also expected on April 20, with pricing likely between ₹8.5 lakh and ₹14 lakh. The update focuses on feature additions, including an improved infotainment system, along with minor design changes. The mechanical setup is expected to remain unchanged.
Nissan Tekton
The Nissan Tekton is expected around April 22, priced between ₹10 lakh and ₹18 lakh. It will be based on a platform related to the new Duster but will feature a distinct design and positioning. The SUV is expected to offer a modern cabin and competitive features within the compact SUV segment.
April creates a short window where pricing, features and positioning across multiple SUVs can be directly compared. For buyers, this increases clarity and intensifies competition between brands. Waiting until the end of the month allows for better comparison once all updates and expected launches reach the market.
