Tata Motors has confirmed that the Sierra EV will arrive in showrooms between April and June 2026, placing its launch in the opening quarter of FY27. The electric SUV has already been spotted testing multiple times on public roads, suggesting the development phase is nearing completion and the production model is getting closer to its official debut.

Tata Sierra EV launch

The Sierra EV will sit above the Tata Curvv EV in Tata’s electric portfolio and is expected to target buyers looking for a midsize electric SUV with strong road presence and a premium cabin.

The upcoming model will be a five seater electric SUV designed to compete in the growing premium EV segment. Tata may offer the Sierra EV with two drivetrain options including a single motor rear wheel drive setup and a more powerful dual motor all wheel drive configuration.

Acti.ev Plus Platform

Under the body, the Sierra EV will be built on Tata’s Acti.ev Plus electric architecture. The skateboard style platform is designed to support multiple battery packs and drivetrain layouts across Tata’s future electric vehicles.

The Sierra EV is also expected to share several key components with the Tata Harrier EV, which will help the company optimise development costs while maintaining strong performance and range figures.
